Ipswich City Council has given the green light for the giant Costco store (6 km from Redbank)

Cr David Morrison said work could now officially begin at the Ashburn Rd site to build the retail warehouse, which will be the equivalent in size to two football fields. Cr Morrison said the US Company had set an opening date for between September and December 2018. “The accessibility of the site to a large regional catchment with good access to Ipswich, the western corridor of metropolitan Brisbane and regional areas further west, which is expected to grow, interested Costco most.

“The proposed development will provide a net community benefit through investment in the local area, potentially acting as a catalyst for investment in the region, and will contribute to local employment initially through construction then long-term sustainable employment through the operational phase of the use.”

Division 4 Councillor Kylie Stoneman said Costco would be a huge boost to the area as the premises would employ 330 full-time and part-time staff, open seven days a week with extended trading hours, provide 823 on-site car parking spaces, and discount petrol at its service station.

Central Coast Rail Maintenance Facility Preparations Underway

The rail maintenance facility at Kangy Angy on the Central Coast is going full steam ahead, with preparations underway. Transport Minister Andrew Constance stated the Kangy Angy site was selected after “comprehensive analysis” and preparation work had begun in January. In September 2017, Transport for NSW approved the facility at Kangy Angy for the $2.3 billion New Intercity Fleet. The site, which will run 24/7, will include about six kilometres of electrified railway up to seven tracks wide, offices, amenities, staff parking and ancillary buildings.

These Suburbs under $400,000 are tipped to outshine Sydney

NINE Queensland cities are tipped to return more bang for buck than star performers Sydney and Melbourne — and they’re about 50 per cent cheaper too. Latest analysis by market research firm Propertyology found 39 growth locations where median house prices were less than $400,000 but whose returns were expected to beat the southern capitals.

Propertyology managing director Simon Pressley said the list included nine in Queensland. “I am not a betting man however, each of these locations have a superior three-year outlook to Sydney and Melbourne,” he said. The Queensland suburbs were expected to come out strong.

Could Brisbane Take Over As The Best Performing Capital City Housing Market In 5 Years?

Silverhall's research positioning on Brisbane is consistent with Australia’s most prominent research firm. Below is a recent article from Core Logic (RP Data)

Could Brisbane Take Over As The Best Performing Capital City Housing Market In 5 Years?

Brisbane is well placed to take over as the best performing capital city housing market over the next five years. Dwelling values across Australia’s third largest capital city have risen at the annual rate of 1.2% of the past decade; that’s half the pace of inflation and dramatically lower than Sydney or Melbourne where annual gains have averaged 6.3% and 5.9% over the past ten years.

Springfield Catchment Area Continues Its Domination

Silverhall’s research identified suburbs in the Springfield Catchment Area as ‘ideally positioned for strong capital growth’. As a result, we have been bullish about buying investment properties in this area. Latest Government figures continue to support our position. Ipswich City Council’s September Quarter Development Activity Report (the final planning report for 2017) demonstrates the growth and development of the area are not just on track but will continue for years to come. According to Council's Report, the population grew to 206,344 an equivalent annual population growth rate of 4.59 percent.
