Brisbane Catholic Education has been given the go ahead to build a new primary school on Halletts Road at Redbank Plains.

The first two stages (of eight) will include classrooms, an administration building, covered PE space, canteen, play space and IT area to accommodate up to 186 students and 18 staff. Once it is fully developed, it will have enough classrooms and facilities to cater for about 780 students and 50 staff.

It’s being built in a booming area. Redbank Plains is consistently among the city’s fastest growing suburbs, with council’s latest Planning and Development Quarterly Activity Report ranking it first for population growth.

Ipswich has a great community feel and it is the people who make Ipswich such a great place to live and work. Ipswich First has put together a list of some things which are really going gangbusters across the city.

Building boom

Costco Bundamba is on track to be ready by Christmas.

The refurbished Masters Home Improvement store at Springfield will soon be turned into a mini mall of shops.

A development application has been lodged with council for various facilities, including a restaurant, food and drink outlets, chemist, childcare centre, 24-hour gym, medical centre, play centre, retail shops and showrooms.

The building at Southern Cross Circuit is expected to take shape over coming months.

Development applications have also been lodged for a new playground at Springfield Central Shopping Centre, an expansion of health city in Springfield and a parcel distribution centre at Redbank. Ripley Town Centre is expanding with a $40 million first instalment recently opened.

Building the missing link will give faster access for local residents in communities like Redbank Plains and Redbank. The new access route to Centenary Highway will be linking to Brisbane and the new Greater Springfield, the 2nd largest master planned community after Canberra.

Construction of the largest parcel facility and delivery centre in the southern hemisphere is under way in Ipswich. The $200 million Australia Post facility, which will cover an area equivalent to almost 10 football fields, is being built at Goodman’s Redbank Motorway Estate. It means jobs for Ipswich with 500 people to be based at the new facility which will be able to process up to 700,000 parcels per day, making it Australia Post’s key delivery hub and parcel processing hub in Queensland.

“We chose Redbank because it’s strategically located between Brisbane and Ipswich and sits at the edge of three major motorway interchanges, providing multiple access points to arterial routes.”

New research from property data firm CoreLogic has indicated that Brisbane is leading the nation on most property performance indicators.
